This woman had to reroute to Auckland then fly down to Christchurch, meaning she missed meeting her friend from England, whom she hadn’t seen in ten years. I felt sorry for her. Then she took out some large pastries from her bag and started eating noisily and spilling crumbs on me. I stopped feeling sorry for her then. It was disgusting. We are staying in an old hotel with a spiral staircase, which is unusual. The weather is mild. Tomorrow we drive to the coast. Did you know that there are no snakes, crocodiles or ugly animals in New Zealand? You would love it here.
